(RALEIGH) -- Some insurance companies are reevaluating where they write home insurance policies in North Carolina as a result of storms and other factors. Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin says they are working with consumers to make sure they can get coverage.
"We will make sure that homeowners have access to affordable insurance. We also want to make sure the companies that write here and choose to write here have a competitive marketplace but also can be solvent and make a reasonable profit. So it's a delicate balance," he said.
Goodwin says he would like Congress to review flood insurance for storms that travel up the Eastern seaboard.
