(DURHAM) -- A year after a 13-year-old Durham girl was killed in a drive-by shooting, police have arrested two men for her murder. Police charged 26-year-old Levette Lipscomb and 19-year-old Brandon Townsend Friday after receiving a tip.
Shakanah China was shot in front of her apartment building in May 2011. Her mother reacted to the news that her daughter's accused killers had been caught.
"Do I forgive them? Hell no, I don't forgive them. I don't forgive neither one of them. I hope they suffer and die. That's what I hope. I hope every last one of them gets the death penalty," said Demetriss China.
Her daughter died in her arms after being struck with two bullets. Her mother believes the shooting was gang-related.
