(GREENSBORO) -- Jurors in the John Edwards campaign corruption trial say prosecutors couldn't prove that the money Edwards used to hide his pregnant mistress while he ran for president were illegal campaign contributions.
The jury caused a stir in the courtroom by color-coordinating their clothes, and alternate juror Denise Spate was accused of flirting with Edwards in court. She talked about the allegations on Good Morning America.
"I thought it was just the funniest thing I'd ever heard. Actually, I was giggling over, I think, the media's reaction when we walked into the courtroom over our outfits and color. No intention of flirting with John Edwards, and I don't think he had any intentions of blushing or flirting back with me," she said.
The jury acquitted Edwards on one count of campaign finance violations on Thursday, and the judge declared a mistrial on five other charges. It is unlikely that there will be a retrial.
