Gov. Hunt touts NC and Obama in DNC speech

(CHARLOTTE) -- Former North Carolina Gov. Jim Hunt had his time in the Democratic National Convention spotlight Wednesday night. Hunt told the crowd that education is the key to success and that President Barack Obama an education president.

"Magic didn't do it in North Carolina," said Hunt.  "This is a time to drive education forward.  This is a time to drive the economy forward.  This is a time to drive America forward. We must do it together and we must re-elect Barack Obama as President of the United State."

Hunt served as governor from 1977 to 1985, then returned to the Executive Mansion from 1993 until 2001.
