RALEIGH -- The National Weather Service has not called off the winter weather advisory for much of Central North Carolina, which remains in effect through midnight, but Meteorologist Nick Petro says they've backed off from earlier predictions that the Triangle could see accumulation of of up to a quarter inch of sleet.

Petro said, "I'm not expecting a whole lot of issues. Except for very localized, very patchy, where the slick sports occur. I don't want people to take the idea that there couldn't be any issues tonight, there certainly could. And especially where it's rained and the water hasn't dried up there could be some black ice issues developing. Actually, expecting some black ice issues to develop overnight."

Forecasters say the last push of precipitation could come between 6 and 9 PM.
